RHYL MAN JAILED FOR THREE YEARS IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE
A woman who endured a sustained period of domestic abuse at the hands of her partner, Luke Parry, in Rhyl has stated that his incarceration has given her a sense of relief and stability.Jessie King, aged 26, described her relationship with Parry—father of one of her three children—as characterized by numerous allegations of infidelity and episodes of violence, including two incidents of strangulation.
Parry, 30, formerly living on Bath Street in Rhyl, was sentenced on April 1 at Mold Crown Court to three years and four months in prison and was also issued a five-year restraining order aimed at protecting Ms King.
She recounted that their relationship was filled with arguments; Parry often monitored her mobile phone, accusing her of cheating.
Ms King explained that Parry, who had been diagnosed as extremely paranoid and convinced of her unfaithfulness, would resort to threats and physical assaults, frequently using his fists.
His actions left her feeling terrified and manipulated into uttering falsehoods.
The abuse included physical attacks, threats with a rope, and coercive behaviors involving their children.
She chose to speak publicly to inspire other victims of domestic violence to seek help.
Parry’s violent conduct involved pushing her, strangulation, and threatening her over her phone and fidelity accusations, all within a pattern of controlling and manipulative behavior.
She described her emotional struggle, noting a shift from happiness to misery, weight loss, and diminished confidence; however, she now feels more optimistic following his sentencing and the support she receives from the Domestic Abuse Safety Unit North Wales.
She encouraged others not to remain silent out of fear, emphasizing that support networks are accessible.
Additionally, Parry was found guilty of a cowardly attack in Rhyl town centre, where he and co-defendant Kyle Jones, who was sentenced to 16 months, assaulted him in a two-on-one confrontation.
