LUKE MURDOCH OF WORTHING SENTENCED IN GUILDFORD FOR VOYEURISM OFFENSES
A man known for filming girls in toilets at leisure and fast food venues has been sentenced to prison.
Luke Murdoch, 26, from the Worthing area, was convicted of three counts of voyeurism in Guildford.
Guildford Crown Court heard that the first incident took place on May 20, 2019.
Officers responded to Spectrum Leisure Centre after reports of a man filming in the female toilets.
A 15-year-old girl who was in the cubicles saw a camera phone being inserted beneath the stall and immediately alerted her sister.
The girls reported the incident to staff, who then contacted the police.
The second incident occurred on October 23, 2019, at Burger King in Ladymead Retail Park.
An 11-year-old girl was followed into the bathroom and photographed while on the toilet.
This event was also reported to staff, leading to a police investigation.
Murdoch was identified after an appeal involving CCTV footage that was circulated to the public through the media and Surrey Police’s social media channels.
He was detained on December 17, 2019, and charged with voyeurism.
Subsequent forensic analysis of Murdoch’s phone revealed additional voyeuristic images of adult women, taken in various public toilets.
On March 11, he was sentenced to nine months in prison and ordered to adhere to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
