GLASGOW COME DINE WITH ME WINNER LUCY HAUGHEY ADMITS SEX WITH 15-YEAR-OLD BOY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Glasgow, Lucy Haughey, a 37-year-old woman known for her appearance on the popular Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me, has admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy.The incident came to light after Haughey, who had previously won a £1,000 prize on the cooking competition, arranged to meet the teenager at her home in June 2016 through Facebook messages.
Haughey, who is a mother of three, was known to the boy’s family and often visited their house when the boy was present.
According to court proceedings, the Procurator Fiscal depute Claire Whyte explained that in June 2016, Haughey made explicit arrangements with the boy via Facebook, planning to meet at her residence during the evening of June 25th for sexual activity.
The teenager told his mother he was going out to play football, but instead traveled to Haughey’s house.
Once there, the court heard, the two sat talking for some time before Haughey invited the boy into her bedroom.
She then asked him to lie on her bed, and the two engaged in sexual activity.
The teenager left her house afterward, and months later, Haughey was caught revealing details of the incident during a private Facebook conversation with another friend.
During this exchange, she expressed regret and claimed that she was a “bad person,” adding, “I’m glad it was me and not a skinny, skanky 15-year-old schemy.” Haughey also admitted to her friend that the boy had a crush on her and that she had turned down his repeated advances.
She further stated, “He wanted introduced, I’m an expert, it happened,” and asked her friend to delete their online chat.
When questioned about her relationship with the boy’s mother, Haughey said, “She can’t ever know.” Later, when the boy’s mother was informed of the conversation, she confronted her son, who then broke down and admitted to having sex with Haughey.
The incident was reported to the police, leading to Haughey’s arrest.
During police interviews, she largely refused to comment, only saying “no comment” to most questions.
Haughey appeared before Glasgow’s sheriff court, where Sheriff Barry Divers deferred sentencing to a later date.
She was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register as part of the court’s ruling.
The court also heard that earlier in the year, Haughey had been given a community payback order after engaging in online harassment against her then-boyfriend’s ex-partner, Sharon Low.
Between June 2015 and May 2016, Haughey sent threatening and abusive messages to Low, causing her significant distress and humiliation.
In the recent case, Sheriff Linda Ruxton imposed a community payback order requiring Haughey to complete 250 hours of unpaid work within eight months.
Additionally, she was granted a two-year non-harassment order to prevent further contact or intimidation.
The case remains ongoing, and Haughey’s sentencing is scheduled for a future date.
