LUCAS HOJKA FROM WIGAN SENTENCED FOR PREGNANCY OF SCHOOLGIRL IN POLAND AND UK
In a disturbing case that spans two countries, a man named Lucas Hojka from Wigan has been sentenced to nine and a half years in prison after being convicted of engaging in a series of sexual offenses involving a young girl. The court heard that Hojka, now 25 years old, began his inappropriate relationship with the girl when she was only 11 years old, during their time living in Poland. This illicit relationship continued even after both parties relocated to England, with Hojka maintaining contact and further abusing the girl.During the proceedings at Liverpool Crown Court, Judge David Aubrey, QC, described Hojka’s actions as particularly egregious, emphasizing the vulnerability of the victim. The judge stated, “There was an element of grooming in this case which permitted you to continue having sex with her on a number of occasions.” The court was informed that the girl had been “extremely vulnerable,” and that Hojka exploited this vulnerability for his own gratification.
Hojka pleaded guilty to a total of 10 counts of rape and five counts of sexual activity with a child. The judge highlighted the fact that the girl was “infatuated” with Hojka, which sometimes led her to consent to sexual acts, while at other times she acquiesced under pressure or threat. The fact that Hojka impregnated her was considered an especially aggravating factor in his sentencing.
The court also ordered Hojka, of Belle Green Lane, Ince, to register as a sex offender for life. Additionally, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 16.
Prosecutor Arthur Gibson provided further details, explaining that Hojka is approximately ten years older than his victim. The abuse began in Poland when she was just 11, with Hojka kissing her and professing his love. The girl was reportedly “bowled over” and became infatuated with him. As their relationship progressed, she started skipping school to meet him and eventually agreed to engage in sexual activity, which occurred around ten times without contraception. Some of these encounters were consensual, but others involved threats from Hojka, including warnings that he would tell her mother if she refused.
As a result of the abuse, the girl’s behavior deteriorated; she started drinking and was labeled a “bad kid.” To protect her, her family decided to bring her to the UK to live with relatives. She arrived in England with her mother, and there was no contact with Hojka for three years.
In 2013, Hojka and his partner moved to the UK, and the abuse resumed. Once again, Hojka threatened to tell her mother about their relationship. The girl eventually became pregnant, leading to an abortion earlier this year. It was during this period that she confided in the police about the abuse, revealing that Hojka had also physically assaulted her on two occasions—once slapping her face and once punching her in the stomach while she was pregnant.
When Hojka was arrested and questioned by authorities, he refused to answer any questions, according to Mr. Gibson. The case underscores the serious nature of his crimes and the lasting impact on the victim, who was left to deal with the trauma of abuse, threats, and pregnancy at a young age.
