LOUKAS WARNE FROM RUGBY AND NUNEATON IN CUSTODY FOR UNDER-AGE SEX OFFENCES
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Rugby and Nuneaton, Loukas Warne, a 20-year-old man with connections to both towns, has been remanded in custody following serious allegations of engaging in sexual activities with a minor.The incident, which took place earlier this year, involved Warne having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl, an act that has now led to multiple charges being brought against him.
Warne, who was originally from Rugby but currently resides on Leicester Road in Nuneaton, appeared before Warwick Crown Court to face the charges.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, with the court hearing that the offences occurred during separate incidents involving the same underage girl.
The first incident involved a sexual encounter, while the other two involved additional sexual activities with her.
The court was also informed that Warne had a prior caution issued in 2011 for similar conduct, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior.
This previous caution was brought up during the proceedings, highlighting the seriousness of the current charges and the defendant’s history.
Colin Charvill, representing Warne, acknowledged the gravity of the situation, stating, “He has clearly done this before.” The judge, Richard Griffith-Jones, responded by deciding to adjourn the case until the beginning of the new year.
This delay allows for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, which will inform the court’s sentencing decision.
Furthermore, the judge rejected an application for bail, citing concerns over public safety and the severity of the charges.
Warne was remanded in custody and was ordered to register as a sex offender, a requirement that will follow him as part of his legal obligations moving forward.
