In a shocking act of violence that has sent ripples through the community, Louise Soutar, a woman from Kirkcaldy, was involved in a brutal assault on her former partner, Craig Johnston.The incident unfolded in the early hours of August 2 at Johnston's flat, located in Glasgow, following a night of celebration marking Soutar's 40th birthday.
According to reports, Soutar, who is now 41 years old, armed herself with a broken vodka bottle during a heated confrontation.
Without warning, she launched a violent attack on Johnston, stabbing him multiple times in critical areas including his head, neck, and stomach.
The severity of the injuries was such that Johnston required immediate emergency surgery and a blood transfusion to survive.
The attack has left him with permanent scars, a stark reminder of the violence he endured that night.
During the subsequent court proceedings, Soutar pleaded guilty to charges of attempted murder at the High Court in Glasgow.
Prosecutor Lynsey Rodger revealed that despite their breakup, Soutar and Johnston had maintained a seemingly amicable relationship, which makes the violence all the more shocking.
The court heard that the assault was unprovoked and carried out with deadly intent.
Following her plea, Soutar was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
Judge Lord Clark addressed her directly in court, emphasizing the seriousness of her actions and the need for her to remain detained until her sentencing.
