LORRAINE KING SHOCKS FLEET WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING BOY ON ELVETHAM HEATH

In June 2013, a disturbing case emerged involving Lorraine King, a woman who was employed as a lunchtime supervisor at Elvetham Heath Primary School in Fleet. King, aged 41 at the time, was found guilty of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a young boy, leading to serious legal consequences and a lasting impact on her life.

King’s actions came to light after a concerned neighbor on Turgis Road, within the Elvetham Heath estate, observed suspicious behavior in her garden. The neighbor reported seeing King on all fours, with a young boy standing behind her, mimicking sexual intercourse. Both individuals were fully clothed during this incident, but the neighbor was alarmed by King’s laughter and her provocative words, which included the phrase, “ride me baby, ride me.”

Following this report, police were called to investigate the matter. During their interviews, the young boy confirmed that King had previously touched him inappropriately. He recounted that she had placed her hand on his leg and moved it upward toward his thigh during visits to her home. The boy also revealed that King had engaged him in conversations about sex, which he found uncomfortable, and he was able to change the subject on some occasions. The police also spoke with King, who initially denied the allegations of touching but admitted to the incident of simulated sexual activity, claiming it only happened once. She denied instructing the boy to “ride her,” suggesting that the neighbor’s account might have been exaggerated or caused by a dispute.

During the court proceedings at Winchester Crown Court, the prosecution, led by Adam Hiddleston, detailed the charges against King. She had previously admitted to inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and to sexual assault on a minor. The court heard that her behavior was deeply inappropriate and harmful, especially considering her role as a school worker.

In her defense, Andrew Turton highlighted concerns raised by a probation officer regarding King’s low intelligence. He argued that she did not fully comprehend the severity of her actions and believed she did not realize her conduct was wrong. Turton also pointed out that King was a single mother supporting two daughters, one of whom has Asperger syndrome. Since the incident, she had not been in contact with the boy and had lost her job at Elvetham Heath Primary School, now living on benefits.

Judge Andrew Barnett sentenced King to a five-year period on the sex offenders’ register and a nine-month community order. He emphasized the gravity of her misconduct, stating, “People who commit these sort of offences very often go straight to jail. Your behaviour was totally inappropriate and wrong towards that boy, pretending to engage in sexual activity. You’re the adult and he was the child and you should not have behaved in that way.”

While acknowledging her early guilty plea and lack of prior convictions, the judge made it clear that her actions had serious consequences. He expressed hope that the leniency in her sentencing would serve as a lesson, reinforcing that such behavior towards children is unacceptable.

Stuart Adlam, the headteacher at Elvetham Heath Primary School, confirmed that King had been employed there but had not worked at the school since early autumn of the previous year. He clarified that the charges did not relate to her role at the school or involve any pupils, emphasizing that her misconduct was confined to her personal life and interactions outside her professional responsibilities.
