A convicted violent offender has received a prison sentence after subjecting a woman to prolonged abuse.
Lewis Taylor, 36, was responsible for a series of assaults and abusive behaviours against his victim, which required her to seek hospital care.
His first known attack took place in June 2025, when, after accusing her of cheating, he strangled her and pushed her onto the ground.
There was also an incident where he appeared at her workplace, grabbed her by her shirt collar, spat in her face, and at another time, caused her to sustain two black eyes.
The most severe attack happened on July 27 at her residence in Leysdown, where he forcefully entered her home, repeatedly hit her with her head against toilets, floors, and walls, and punched her multiple times.
He then dragged her outside into the courtyard, urinated on her, and destroyed her mobile phone.
She was able to escape and sought help from neighbors, who called police.
Taylor fled before officers arrived but was apprehended later in Sidcup.
He was charged with various crimes including intentional strangulation, assault by beating, actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
Despite denying the allegations, he was convicted by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court.
On 30 January 2026, Taylor was sentenced to six years in prison and was ordered to stay away from the victim for 15 years with a restraining order.
