BORDERS MAN SENTENCED FOR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR TOWARD PARTNER
A 20-year-old male named Lewis MacLean has been found guilty of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour towards his partner or ex-partner.The court was informed that MacLean pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing, acting aggressively, uttering offensive remarks, and making threats of violence directed at the woman.
He also struck her on the head with his hand while at his home in Stonefield Place, Hawick, between March 23 and March 30 of this year.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told that the relationship between the two had ended.
For his actions, MacLean was ordered to attend the Caledonian Men’s Programme for two years and was also given a two-year Non-Harassment Order to prevent any contact with the woman.
The sentence was given as an alternative to custody.
