STALKER PLEADS GUILTY TO OFFENCES AGAINST TWO VICTIMS
Lewis Flack, aged 37 and residing on Woodhill Road in Chelmsford, engaged in prolonged harassment of two women over a span of five years. His actions included monitoring one woman's whereabouts both in person and through her mobile device.
He would make contact with her to demonstrate he was aware of her location, and would send multiple calls, messages, and voice notes if she did not respond.
Additionally, he waited outside her home during nighttime hours, repeatedly knocking on her front door.
A second woman reported receiving over 300 unsolicited calls and emails from Flack within less than six weeks, and observed him outside her residence as frequently as seven times daily.
Essex Police collaborated with the charity Next Chapter’s Independent Domestic Violence Advisors to protect these victims and reviewed their home security measures during the investigation.
Once Flack's routine movements were mapped, officers detained him while he was driving on the A12 in Suffolk on Tuesday, March 12.
He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of stalking.
He appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on March 13, where he admitted to both charges.
Flack was remanded into custody until his sentencing scheduled for April 3, 2024, at Basildon Magistrates' Court.
Detective Chief Inspector Nathan Hutchinson of the North Essex Domestic Abuse Investigations Team commented, "Flack had repeatedly shown utter disregard for the safety and wellbeing of his victims.
"His behaviour showed contempt for both these women as well as the law, so it is important he will now be sentenced for his crimes.
"Our officers assess abusers like Flack against academic research that shows the most likely indicators for domestic abuse.
"When we find offenders like Flack using this approach we have the information we need to act quickly and get a dangerous perpetrator like him off our streets."
