Leslie Crossan, a convicted child sex offender from Northumberland, has once again found himself at the center of a serious legal and moral controversy following a disturbing incident shortly after his release from prison.Crossan, who previously served a 12-year sentence for multiple offenses involving the sexual assault of minors under the age of 16, was released on licence on November 14 of the previous year.
His release came after he had been convicted in 2018 of a series of heinous crimes, including sexual assault and engaging in sexual activities with children, involving four victims under 16 years old.
As part of his sentencing conditions, Crossan was subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which explicitly prohibited him from making any contact with his victims.
Despite these restrictions, the 64-year-old resident of Kearsley Close, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, reactivated one of his social media accounts shortly after his release.
This act of re-engagement with social media platforms marked a troubling breach of his legal obligations and raised serious concerns about his intentions.
On November 28, just two weeks after being released, one of Crossan’s victims was alarmed to discover a notification on her phone indicating that Crossan had followed her on social media.
The victim, overwhelmed by the shock, immediately felt a surge of panic.
