Oldham Burnley Sexual Abuser
A 69-year-old man named Leonard Hoy has been sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of indecent assault. Hoy, formerly residing in Oldham and currently of Burnley, used covert filming devices to secretly record himself engaging in inappropriate acts with a schoolgirl. Court hearings revealed that Hoy often walked around his home naked. The jury found him guilty of indecent assault earlier this year, though he was cleared of additional charges related to child abuse and indecent photography. Judge Jonathan Foster QC described Hoy’s view of sexual propriety as warped. During the sentencing, public spectators showed their support. Hoy claimed that his behaviour was non-sexual, attributing it to a rash and an addiction to taping. His defence also highlighted the hardships he faced after his conviction, including time in custody, loss of possessions, and suffering.
