A 34-year-old man who assaulted his former partner has been sentenced to prison.
Leon Thomas, from Llan Ffestiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog, appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates Court on 28 April following charges related to two instances of criminal damage and an incident of assault causing injury the previous day.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 27 April when Thomas became aggressive after his ex-partner asked him to leave her residence.
He caused destruction to her property and then proceeded to physically assault her by punching her face multiple times.
Although she managed to remove him from her home, he later returned and attempted to re-enter the property by kicking at both the front and back doors, inflicting additional damage.
Police officers responded to the scene and found Thomas nearby, leading to his arrest.
He confessed to the charges and received a jail sentence of 35 weeks.
Furthermore, Thomas was issued a three-year Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) aimed at safeguarding the victim.
