LONDON MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER AFTER STABBING PARTNER 17 TIMES
A man named Leon Murray, age 35, has been convicted of the murder of his partner, Keisha Christodoulou, who was 32 years old.The fatal incident happened on 1 November 2022 within their flat on Tanner's Hill in southeast London.
Murray fatally stabbed Keisha 17 times after she expressed her intention to end the relationship, an act described by Detective Inspector Adam Clifton as both senseless and selfish.
Although Murray initially claimed diminished responsibility, the jury at Wood Green Crown Court dismissed this argument and found that he comprehended the consequences of his actions.
After the attack, Murray changed his clothing, collected their six-year-old daughter from school, and told staff that he had 'ended' Keisha and that 'it is done.' Emergency services responded to the scene, discovering Keisha on the living room floor, where she was pronounced dead.
Murray confessed to the crime; however, the court did not accept his plea of diminished responsibility.
He is scheduled for sentencing at the same court on the upcoming Monday.
The investigation included examining the brutal violence used and the significant impact on her children and family members.
Detective Inspector Clifton focused on the violence of his reaction to Keisha’s decision to end their relationship, condemning the act as both brutal and selfish, and noted that the jury was right in rejecting Murray’s victim claim.
The verdict marks a serious domestic homicide case, with sentencing proceedings set to take place shortly.
