Milton Keynes Rapist
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Leigh McMillan, a 46-year-old resident of Milton Keynes, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl over a period of five years. The heinous crimes took place during the mid-1990s, and the victim, who was only 10 years old at the time, endured a relentless pattern of abuse that left deep scars.

According to court proceedings at the Old Bailey, McMillan, who was identified as a senior member of the far-right group the English Defence League, used manipulative tactics to groom his young victim. He reportedly lured her with cigarettes and drugs, establishing a disturbing pattern of control and exploitation. The court heard that McMillan subjected the girl to a “spiral of sexual abuse,” with incidents occurring repeatedly over the span of five years.

One particularly distressing detail revealed during the trial was that McMillan assaulted the girl while she was lying on her mother’s bed. During these assaults, he warned her, saying, “You mustn’t tell your mum – she’d be really upset,” a chilling indication of his intent to silence her and conceal his actions. The court was told that the abuse was so frequent that the girl felt as if “every day was Groundhog Day,” describing her experience as a continuous cycle of suffering. In her statement to the court, she expressed that she “had not had control” of her own life during those years, highlighting the profound impact of the abuse on her sense of agency and well-being.

Leigh McMillan’s arrest came in September 2016, following an investigation into the allegations. He faced multiple charges, including three counts of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child, and one count of attempted rape. After a trial last month, the jury found him guilty on all counts. The judge subsequently sentenced McMillan to a total of 17 years in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in place indefinitely.

It is noteworthy that McMillan had previously been outspoken in criticizing Muslims over child abuse cases involving Asian grooming gangs, a stance that drew public attention. However, his own criminal conduct revealed a depraved pattern of abuse that starkly contrasts with his public statements, exposing the hypocrisy and the severity of his crimes.
