LEIGH LYNCH FROM SOUTH CROYDON STARVES GERMAN SHEPHERD AND MASTIFF FOR 21 DAYS

Leigh Lynch, a woman residing on Gorse Road in Shirley, Croydon, has been found guilty of severe animal neglect involving two beloved family pets.

Born around 1972, Lynch was convicted in 2011 after a disturbing case of prolonged starvation inflicted upon her German Shepherd named Lady and a female Mastiff named Stella.

According to court records, Lynch admitted to intentionally depriving her dogs of food for a period of three weeks, a cruel act that left the animals emaciated and suffering from neglect.

The case drew significant attention from animal welfare organizations and the local community, highlighting the severity of her actions.

In addition to the starvation, Lynch faced allegations of failing to provide proper veterinary care for her pets.

She denied three additional charges related to neglect, which included neglecting to address issues such as overgrown claws, flea infestations, and a skin condition that required medical attention.

These failures further underscored her neglectful attitude towards her animals' health and well-being.

During the court proceedings, an RSPCA inspector provided a stark account of the condition of the dogs.

The inspector stated, “These dogs were very clearly underweight and that would have been obvious to anyone who saw them.

The owner should have sought help to care for her dogs and not simply left them neglected and hungry.

There is no excuse.” As a consequence of her actions, Lynch was sentenced to 250 hours of community service, ordered to pay £500 in costs, and was given a four-year ban on keeping animals.

This ban, which was imposed to prevent future neglect, expired in 2015.

The case was reported by the Sutton & Croydon Guardian, emphasizing the importance of animal welfare and the consequences of neglectful ownership.
