A woman from Fife, who continues to endure the emotional and physical aftermath of a traumatic sexual assault, has been fitted with a heart monitor to manage her ongoing panic attacks, which persist more than two and a half years after the incident.In a court case held before Sheriff Timothy Niven-Smith, Glenrothes resident Lee Todd, aged 32, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old girl.
The trial revealed disturbing details about the assault that took place in June 2019, highlighting the severity of the crime and its lasting impact on the victim.
The court heard that the young woman was invited to Todd’s residence on Laggan Crescent, while his parents were away.
The purpose of her visit was to see his new Subaru vehicle.
During her testimony, her mother described the profound and devastating effect the assault has had on her daughter’s mental health and well-being.
The mother recounted that Todd had made a disturbing comment, suggesting that if he had taken her out in the car, he would want to engage in sexual activity with her.
This remark underscored the predatory nature of his behavior and added to the trauma experienced by the victim.
According to court records, the teenager attempted to leave Todd’s home upon realizing the inappropriate intentions.
However, Todd, who was present at the scene, responded by slapping her on the buttocks.
He then used his foot and one hand to block her from exiting through the front door, effectively trapping her inside.
The young woman struggled to free herself, wriggling away from Todd’s grasp.
Despite her efforts, he continued to obstruct her escape and attempted to unzip her hoodie, further assaulting her personal boundaries and dignity during the ordeal.
