LEE ROBB FROM FIFE SENTENCED IN KIRKCALDY FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE AND HEROIN TRAFFICKING

Lee Robb, a man with a criminal history rooted in Fife, has been handed a significant prison sentence following a series of serious domestic offences and his involvement in heroin smuggling.

The case was heard at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where the court was presented with detailed accounts of Robb’s abusive behavior spanning over eight years, as well as his criminal activities related to drug trafficking.

Robb, aged 38 and formerly residing in Leslie, was found guilty after a comprehensive four-day trial.

The court heard that his pattern of abusive conduct included violent assaults, threats, and manipulative behavior directed at two different women over a lengthy period.

As a result, he was sentenced to three years in prison and received a five-year ban from contacting his former partners.

The court detailed specific incidents, including an attack on his then-partner in a vehicle in Leslie between September 2010 and early 2011, which left her injured.

On another occasion, near Kinross on the A922, Robb assaulted her again, this time striking her on the head with a bag filled with food.

The trial revealed that Robb’s threatening and abusive behavior persisted from October 2010 through 2013, during which he sent her threatening letters and a photograph with offensive comments written on it.

In addition to his first partner, Robb also subjected a second woman to physical abuse during their relationship.

Between September and December 2011, he assaulted her at a property in Glenrothes by grabbing and pulling her hair.

Over that winter, he repeatedly punched her, seized her arms and hands, and caused her injuries through various acts of violence.

The jury concurred by majority that Robb’s conduct included shouting, swearing, and aggressive behavior over an extensive period of approximately eight and a half years.

While serving time at HMP Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Robb continued his pattern of abuse.

Jurors found that between January 2015 and July 2016, he assaulted the same woman during visits, pinching her and pulling her hair.

The victim recounted that during her visits, other inmates and visitors would question her about her continued relationship with Robb, with some asking why she kept returning to see him.

She described an incident where she was crying and visibly upset, and prison officers advised her not to come back, highlighting the emotional toll and the dangerous nature of their relationship.

Robb’s criminal record was also discussed in court, with advocate Patricia Baillie noting that he had already spent the equivalent of two years in remand.

His history was described as significant, though not specifically aggravated by domestic violence prior to these recent convictions.

The court was informed that Robb’s previous record did not include domestic abuse charges, but his recent behavior warranted strict sentencing.

In addition to his domestic violence convictions, Robb’s involvement in heroin trafficking was highlighted.

In March 2013, he was sentenced to nine years in prison for his role in a drug smuggling operation.

The operation was uncovered during Operation Rumba, a police initiative aimed at disrupting the flow of heroin from North-East England into Scotland.

Undercover officers monitored Robb, who worked as a goose guide, along with his associates, including his father and a businessman named Alan Croston from Wigan.

The police investigation led to the seizure of approximately 2 kilograms of heroin, with an estimated street value of around £200,000, as well as over £25,000 in cash.

Robb was found guilty of participating in the drug trafficking scheme, which involved multiple individuals playing different roles.

Subsequently, he was ordered to forfeit £25,660 following a proceeds of crime hearing.

Judge Elizabeth McFarlane sentenced Lee Robb to three years in prison, with the sentence backdated to March 2021.

She also imposed a five-year ban on him contacting either of his victims, emphasizing the severity of his abusive conduct and his criminal activities.

The judge highlighted the emotional and physical suffering endured by the victims and acknowledged Robb’s lengthy criminal history, which contributed to the decision to impose such a substantial sentence.
