LEE RIGBY FROM FIFE SENTENCED FOR SERIOUS SEXUAL OFFENSE IN EDINBURGH
Lee Rigby, aged 53 and formerly residing on Castle Wynd in Kinghorn, Fife, was involved in a disturbing incident that culminated in a severe sexual assault.According to court proceedings, Rigby initially offered to help his victim by alleviating her aches and pains, creating a false sense of trust.
However, this act of apparent kindness was a prelude to a brutal attack carried out within the privacy of her home.
During the hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh, Judge Norman McFadyen addressed Rigby directly, emphasizing the seriousness of the crime.
The judge stated, "You were found guilty of a serious crime.
The court will always take a finding of rape seriously." The gravity of the offense was underscored by the fact that Rigby, who had no prior convictions for sexual offenses, committed a heinous act that warranted a custodial sentence.
In his sentencing remarks, Judge McFadyen explained that due to the severity of the sexual assault, only imprisonment was appropriate.
Furthermore, Rigby was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period, reflecting the court's concern about the potential risk to the community and the need for ongoing monitoring of his conduct.
