LEE MCNAE FROM MORECAMBE ADMITS TO MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL
In May 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving Lee Andrew McNae, a resident of Bare Lane in Morecambe, who was found to have engaged in sexual activities with a young girl on more than twenty separate occasions. The details of the case were brought to light when McNae appeared before Preston Crown Court via video link from HMP Preston, where he was held in custody.McNae, aged 36, faced a series of serious allegations and ultimately pleaded guilty to five counts related to his inappropriate conduct. The court proceedings took place under the supervision of Judge Beverly Lunt, who presided over the case. During the hearing, McNae admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the girl, who was only 14 years old at the time, during the year 2019. He also acknowledged committing similar offences when she was 15, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.
Interestingly, McNae maintained a public profile on Twitter, where he described himself as a Human Resources director at The Independent HR Advice Service, a company registered at his address in Morecambe. His social media biography also claimed he was a fundraiser for the Morecambe and Heysham Sea Cadets, a detail that adds a disturbing layer of deception given his criminal actions.
Despite his guilty pleas to five charges, McNae pleaded not guilty to two additional offences. The judge ordered that the prosecution should consult with the complainant before deciding whether to accept the plea deal for the remaining charges or to proceed with laying those offences on the court record. Judge Lunt expressed that she believed the admitted acts involved penetrative activity on multiple occasions and suggested that, subject to the victim’s views, an acceptable resolution might be reached.
Furthermore, the court has ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared, which will inform the sentencing process. McNae is scheduled to return to court on June 11 at 10 am for sentencing, where the full extent of his punishment will be determined based on the evidence and reports presented.
