Doncaster Child Sexual Abuser
A man from Doncaster has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of heinous child sexual offences, including the distribution of extremely explicit videos involving victims as young as 11 months old. The investigation into Lee Maidens, aged 46 and residing on Brabbs Avenue in Doncaster, was initiated following a detailed inquiry by the Internet Sexual Offences Team (ISOT).

On October 3, 2024, authorities executed a search warrant at Maidens' residence as part of their ongoing investigation. This operation was prompted by intelligence received indicating his involvement in online child sexual abuse activities. The investigation revealed that between September 3, 2024, and October 3, 2024, Maidens had engaged in online communications with an adult profile. During these exchanges, he expressed intentions to commit sexual offences against a child he believed to be 10 years old, who was supposedly the child of the person he was communicating with.

Further evidence uncovered during the investigation showed that Maidens had sent multiple videos classified as Category A, which are considered the most severe form of indecent images of children, along with Category B videos. These videos depicted the abuse of very young children, including infants as young as 11 months old. The work carried out by ISOT confirmed that Maidens was the individual responsible for distributing these disturbing videos online.

When questioned by authorities, Maidens chose not to comment on the allegations. He was formally charged with several serious offences, including the distribution of indecent images and videos of children—specifically four Category A videos and three Category B videos. Additionally, he faced charges related to attempting to cause a child under 13 to view or watch an image of sexual activity, as well as arranging or facilitating the commission of a sexual offence against a child.

On October 4, 2024, Maidens pleaded guilty to three of the charges. He later admitted to the remaining charge on January 8, 2025. His sentencing took place at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, where he was handed a six-year prison term. An extended license period of four years was also imposed, meaning he will be under supervision for a significant time after his release.

During the sentencing, Judge Harrison described Maidens as a dangerous individual, emphasizing that his offending only ceased when he was arrested. She highlighted the serious risk he poses to the public and the potential for causing substantial harm through his actions, underscoring the gravity of the crimes committed in Doncaster.
