NORTH WALES POLICE DETECTIVE CHARGED WITH UPSKIRTING IN COLWYN BAY
A detective from North Wales Police has been identified after being accused of a sexual offence.Detective Constable Lee Harshey-Jones was detained following an incident in the Colwyn Bay area on Thursday, June 11, as confirmed by police on Monday.
He faces charges of secretly taking photographs beneath clothing without permission, in violation of Sections 67A(1) and (4) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, commonly referred to as "upskirting." He was later remanded into custody and scheduled to appear in court on June 16, where bail was granted.
His next court appearance for a plea hearing is set for Tuesday, July 14, at Chester Crown Court.
North Wales Police stated that the officer has been suspended from his duties and added that it would be inappropriate to provide further comments at this point.
