FORMER MET POLICE OFFICER FROM EGHAM JAILED FOR CHILD VOYEURISM AND INDECENT IMAGES
Lee Hargrave, a 49-year-old former officer of the Metropolitan Police in Surrey, has been convicted and sentenced for crimes related to voyeurism and creating indecent images of a child.
He was found to have installed a camera in a child's bedroom and bathroom, producing indecent footage and images.
Hargrave, who resigned from the police force last year, was charged following an investigation in 2023 concerning a victim aged between 12 and 15 at that time.
At Guildford Crown Court, he admitted to two counts of voyeurism and two counts of making indecent images, resulting in a sentence of 13 months in prison for voyeurism and three months for the indecent images, with both sentences suspended for two years.
He has also been handed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and is subject to an indefinite restraining order against the victim and her family.
Initially charged with six offences, the CPS later confirmed no evidence was offered for two of these counts.
An accelerated misconduct hearing concluded he would have been dismissed without notice from the police had he still been a serving officer, confirming his resignation in August 2024.
