LEE DENNISON SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN HARTLEPOOL
Lee Dennison, a 48-year-old resident of Hartlepool, was recently sentenced to a prison term of eight years after being found guilty of possessing indecent images of children and for violating a sexual harm prevention order. The sentencing took place last week, marking a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and online abuse.
Detective Constable Carl Middleton, a member of the Sex Offender Management Unit (SOMU), expressed the police force’s stance on the case, stating, “Cleveland Police welcomes the sentence handed to Lee Dennison.
He was in possession of child abuse images containing the horrific abuse of young children and babies.” Middleton emphasized the severity of such crimes, describing them as unforgivable and highlighting the suffering endured by the victims depicted in the images.
The detective further detailed the circumstances surrounding the investigation, revealing that Dennison showed no remorse for his actions.
During a routine, unannounced visit to his residence, officers from the SOMU observed Dennison attempting to conceal electronic devices within his home.
These devices, which should have been declared to the authorities, were promptly seized by the officers.
Additionally, investigators discovered another device hidden beneath Dennison’s mattress, raising concerns about his attempts to hide evidence.
Middleton underscored the importance of the sentencing, stating, “The sentence given to Dennison should set a clear example to others that the Force will not tolerate this level of crime being committed.
If you continue to access abusive and horrific content relating to children online, we will catch you and bring you to justice.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing commitment by law enforcement agencies in Hartlepool and across Cleveland to protect vulnerable children and hold offenders accountable for their actions.
