JAIL FOR MAN WHO RAPED WOMAN WHILE SHE SLEPT
Lee Cundy, described as a dangerous individual, raped a woman while she was sleeping and silenced her cries by covering her mouth.He has now been incarcerated.
The 27-year-old, whose address remains unknown, was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison during a hearing at Peterborough Crown Court on March 20 after being found guilty of both rape and attempted rape.
The incident occurred on January 18, 2016, when Cundy visited a woman in her thirties at her residence in March.
After an evening of drinking together, the woman fell asleep.
At approximately 1am, she woke up to Cundy forcing himself on her, with his hand over her mouth to prevent her from crying out.
Investigations uncovered that Cundy had previously made efforts to sexually assault the same woman, with an attempted rape dating back seven years.
He was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment for the rape charge and four more years for the attempted rape, with both terms to be served one after the other.
