February 2021 West Cumbrian man, 35, asked child to send an indecent image of herself A Whitehaven man has been put on the Sex Offenders’ Register after he admitted sexually communicating with a child. Lee David Allan, 35, committed the offence on August 8, 2019, Carlisle Crown Court heard. The court heard that the offence consisted of the defendant asking the schoolgirl involved to share an indecent image of herself. He also told her in an online exchange that she was “kind of fit.” Recorder Philip Grundy ordered background reports on the defendant, whose address was given as Crummock Avenue, Whitehaven. He told Allen: “All options will have to be considered; we will have to consider custody in the usual way but also any other constructive options which the Probation Service think are appropriate in this case.” The defendant was granted bail – but the judge ruled that he must not contact the girl involved. He will be sentenced on March 12.
