KYLE RATCLIFFE FROM LEIGH INVOLVED IN SEX OFFENDER CHARGES NEAR MANCHESTER AND NORTHWICH
The father of Eddie Ratcliffe, who was convicted of the murder of Brianna Ghey in Culcheth Linear Park, has found himself at the center of serious criminal allegations involving sexual misconduct.Kyle Ratcliffe, a resident of Leigh, appeared before Manchester Crown Court to face multiple charges related to indecent exposure and the taking of explicit photographs involving minors.
According to court records, Ratcliffe was charged with two counts of exposure and one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child.
These charges stem from incidents that occurred in different locations, including Salford and Delamere, near Northwich.
The details reveal disturbing behavior, with Ratcliffe admitting to all three charges during his court appearance on Thursday, which resulted in a sentence of 15 months imprisonment.
The court heard that Ratcliffe engaged in a sexual act on himself while driving his Maserati, an incident observed by two teenage girls.
This act of public indecency was committed in Salford in November of the previous year, shortly before his son’s murder trial was scheduled to commence.
Additionally, Ratcliffe was found to have taken a photograph of a child who was changing clothes at a water park in Delamere, near Northwich, during the summer of last year.
The charges related to exposure specify that the 36-year-old intentionally exposed his genitals on two separate occasions, with the intent that others would see and be caused alarm or distress.
His initial court appearance took place at Manchester Magistrates Court on January 19, where he confirmed his identity and personal details but did not enter a plea.
The case was then transferred to Manchester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for Thursday.
It is noteworthy that Ratcliffe is the father of Eddie Ratcliffe, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Brianna Ghey, a teenager from Birchwood.
Due to his remand in custody, Kyle Ratcliffe missed his son’s sentencing hearing.
During today’s proceedings, Ratcliffe pleaded guilty to all three charges.
Judge John Potter proceeded to deliver the sentence, which reflects the gravity of his offenses.
Court reporting restrictions initially prevented the connection between Ratcliffe and his son from being publicly disclosed, especially in the context of a potential trial.
However, these restrictions were lifted following Ratcliffe’s guilty pleas.
Despite this, ongoing restrictions remain in place to protect the identities of the victims involved in the exposure and indecent photography charges, ensuring their anonymity is preserved amidst the public interest in the case.
