KRISTY KIMBER FROM TUNBRIDGE WELLS SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
In January 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Kristy Kimber, a 26-year-old woman from Tunbridge Wells, who was convicted of a series of heinous sexual offences against a young child.Kimber’s actions, which included filming herself engaging in sexual acts with a minor and sharing these videos online, have shocked the local community and prompted a severe legal response.
Kimber was sentenced to a substantial prison term of over nine years for her involvement in these grave crimes.
The investigation revealed that Kimber had not only committed these acts but also sent some of the illicit videos to an online paedophile with whom she had established contact.
During her interactions, Kimber referred to her online partner as 'master' and 'sir,' while she herself was called his 'slave,' indicating a disturbing dynamic of control and submission.
The horrific nature of Kimber’s abuse was uncovered after she asked a friend to repair her mobile phone.
When she handed over the device, she reportedly told her friend, “Just don’t look at the videos,” and laughed, seemingly unaware or unconcerned about the severity of what was stored on her phone.
Prosecutor Martin Yale explained that Kimber believed the videos were harmless or private, as she assumed they were just between friends.
However, her friend’s curiosity led him to view some of the content, which included graphic footage of Kimber performing a sexual act on herself.
Shockingly, the videos also contained footage of a child using a sex toy on a woman, with Kimber’s voice clearly heard instructing the child on what to do.
The videos depicted the child in distress, with some of the clips showing the child being forcibly restrained and crying out for Kimber to stop, while Kimber continued to perform acts of sexual abuse, making noises of pleasure.
The images and recordings were deeply disturbing and revealed a pattern of systematic exploitation.
Mr.
Yale described the reactions of Kimber’s friend upon discovering the videos as one of shock and horror.
He immediately contacted the police, providing them with the evidence of Kimber’s involvement in these crimes.
Kimber was arrested in July of the same year but made no comment during her arrest.
Her subsequent court hearing saw her admit to multiple charges, including six counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, one count of sexual assault, four counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, and three counts of distributing such images.
Judge David Griffith-Jones QC sentenced Kimber to nine years and four months in prison, describing her actions as “an extraordinarily wicked catalogue of offences.” The judge emphasized the depravity involved, stating that the extent of Kimber’s misconduct was “frankly breathtaking,” and warned that the impact on the child would likely be profound and long-lasting.
Further details from the case revealed that Kimber’s phone contained a variety of video clips, some of which showed the child being restrained and crying out for Kimber to stop, while she continued to abuse the child.
The case also involved other individuals, some of whom Kimber had been in a relationship with, and who were under investigation.
Evidence indicated that Kimber’s boyfriend had contacted approximately 200 women in an attempt to recruit them into similar abusive activities, with messages showing Kimber referring to herself as his ‘slave’ and him as her ‘master and sir.’ While Kimber claimed to feel “nervous and excited” about her actions, she later expressed feelings of disgust and remorse.
A relative of the victim stated in a victim impact statement that Kimber had shown no remorse for her crimes.
The judge noted that Kimber, despite her age and education, had committed these grave offences, which involved clear grooming and exploitation of a vulnerable child.
The court recognized that the child’s life had been irreparably damaged and faced an uncertain future.
After reviewing psychiatric and probation reports, the judge decided not to impose an extended sentence, considering Kimber’s partial insight and remorse.
Nonetheless, he emphasized that upon release, Kimber would be subject to strict supervision and monitoring under a sexual harm prevention order, which was made indefinite.
Kimber’s name will be added to the sex offenders’ register, and she will be barred from working with children or vulnerable adults.
She is expected to serve half of her sentence before being released on licence, with ongoing restrictions and supervision to prevent further harm.
