MAN CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTED RAPE OUTSIDE FLAT PARTY
Kristofor Rorrison, aged 24, pleaded guilty to attempting to rape a woman outside her flat in Tollcross, Edinburgh, in July of this year.The 23-year-old victim repeatedly yelled for him to stop as he held her down on the ground.
Her distress was interrupted when a nearby individual shouted that they were calling the police.
Rorrison now faces a prison sentence after admitting to the crime at the High Court in Glasgow.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled for sentencing next month.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Rorrison had been at the same party as the woman, and they later engaged in conversation outside.
Prosecutor Shirley McKenna stated that Rorrison began to make sexual advances and suggested he wanted to have sex with her.
He then exposed himself, leaving the woman feeling "shocked." The court was told that Rorrison subsequently pushed her to the ground and straddled her.
Miss McKenna added, "She tried to fight him off and yelled 'stop' loudly." The woman, who ended up among nettles, attempted to kick Rorrison, who was described as "significantly" larger than her.
A neighbor heard her screams and saw Rorrison with his trousers down.
Miss McKenna explained, "The neighbor said police were being contacted.
Rorrison then fled the scene." Rorrison, from the Muirhouse area, also pleaded guilty to a separate drugs charge.
The judge, Lord Mulholland, postponed sentencing until 6 December in Livingston, cautioning Rorrison about the likely outcome.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
