A 33-year-old man, Kristofer Lind, has been charged with sending inappropriate sexual messages to an undercover police officer who was pretending to be a teenage under 16 years old.
Kristofer Lind entered a plea of not guilty to the charges relating to incidents alleged to have taken place at his flat on Park Street, Hawick, last November.
He is accused of encouraging the minor, identified only as M, to view a sexual image. Additionally, he faces a second charge involving the sending of written communications in which he discussed sexual intercourse and arranged to meet for such purposes.
A trial has been scheduled for November 5 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, with an intermediate hearing set for October 21.
