Hinckley Rapist
In a case that has shocked the community of Hinckley, Kristian Jackson, aged 28, has been sentenced to a substantial nine-year prison term after being found guilty of the heinous crime of raping a 15-year-old girl in 2019. The sentencing took place at Leicester Crown Court on Monday, 12 April, where the court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order, a restraining order, and mandated that Jackson be registered as a sex offender.

The incident in question occurred on the evening of 26 October 2019, at Jackson’s residence on Ashby Road in Hinckley. According to reports, Jackson was responsible for looking after the young girl that evening. During this time, he provided her with alcohol, which led to her becoming heavily intoxicated and subsequently vomiting. Despite her condition, Jackson then drove her home, where the assault took place.

It was revealed that Jackson subjected the girl to repeated sexual assaults over a period of approximately 20 to 40 minutes. The attack was interrupted only when the girl, overwhelmed and frightened, screamed out for help, prompting Jackson to flee the scene in a hurried attempt to escape detection. The incident was promptly reported to the police, leading to a thorough investigation.

Following the police inquiries, officers attended Jackson’s home address and made an arrest. He was subsequently charged with the serious offence of rape. During the trial, the victim, nine months after the assault, delivered a powerful video-recorded statement describing the profound impact the ordeal had on her life. She explained how her confidence and trust in others had been shattered, and she suffered from sleepless nights for weeks afterward. Her behavior regressed to a childlike state, as she constantly sought her mother’s presence and avoided social interactions, preferring to stay at home.

The girl also shared her emotional struggles, including feelings of nervousness, paranoia, and difficulty coping with everyday life. She described experiencing flashbacks and emotional upheaval, which she attributed to the trauma she endured. The teenager, who has since received counseling, spoke candidly about her struggles with friendships, her loss of self-confidence, and her inability to focus on her schoolwork. She described her experience as taking her down a “dark and sad road.”

During the trial, the jury at Leicester Crown Court found Jackson guilty of the rape. The court heard that Jackson had told a police officer that the girl had consumed about half a bottle of gin over two hours. Despite her vomiting and being in a drunken stupor, Jackson removed her clothing and engaged in sexual activity with her without her consent, at a house in the Hinckley area.

In sentencing, Recorder Martin Butterworth emphasized the severity of the crime. He stated, “You’ve been convicted of raping a 15-year-old child, and the evidence was powerful. I’m satisfied you formed an unhealthy intention towards her. In the early evening, you gave her a large amount of alcohol.”

Recorder Butterworth further explained that Jackson initially appeared concerned when the girl was repeatedly sick but then took advantage of her vulnerable state under the pretense of helping her. He accused Jackson of watching her closely and gauging her intoxication level, which he exploited for his own benefit. Despite the girl’s repeated attempts to push him away and her calls for help, Jackson continued his assault until she managed to call out for assistance, at which point he quickly dressed both of them and fled.

The court also heard that Jackson lied when confronted by her father and again lied during the trial. The judge remarked on the lasting damage caused by Jackson’s actions, describing it as “far-reaching and permanent.”

Jackson claimed that the sexual activity was initiated by the girl and that it was consensual, a claim that was contradicted by her age and the circumstances. The court did not accept his version of events.

As part of his sentence, Jackson was sentenced to nine years in prison. Additionally, he was placed under an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order, which prohibit any contact with the victim or her family, aiming to prevent further harm and protect the victim’s well-being.
