KRIS MIDDLETON SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN STOKE-ON-TRENT FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man from Stoke-on-Trent, identified as Kris Middleton, has been handed a significant prison sentence following a series of heinous crimes involving minors.Middleton, aged 39 and residing in Baddeley Green, was brought before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court where he received a 16-year term after being convicted on multiple counts related to child sexual offenses.
The case against Middleton came to light after courageous survivors stepped forward to share their experiences, prompting a thorough investigation by local detectives.
The police initially questioned Middleton in March 2021, following the brave disclosures of one of the victims.
This initial interview marked the beginning of a detailed investigation that aimed to gather sufficient evidence to hold Middleton accountable for his actions.
Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials worked diligently to compile evidence, interview witnesses, and build a strong case.
Their efforts culminated in a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, which commenced on 21 May of this year.
During the trial, a jury found Middleton guilty of a total of 15 counts, which included eight charges of sexual assault against a girl under the age of 13, and seven counts of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Following the verdict, Middleton was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his crimes.
In addition to this, the court imposed an extended license period of one year, ensuring close monitoring after his release.
Middleton was also subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), a legal measure designed to restrict his activities and protect the community from potential harm.
Furthermore, he was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, signifying the ongoing nature of his supervision and the community’s safety concerns.
