KRIS BOND SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN NORTHUMBERLAND
A man named Kris Bond, aged 61, who committed heinous acts of sexual abuse against a young girl during the 1990s in Northumberland, has been sentenced to a substantial prison term of 20 years after a comprehensive investigation led by Northumbria Police established a compelling case against him.The horrifying abuse began in the early 1990s when Bond systematically subjected a school-aged victim to a series of sexual acts, including rape, that spanned several years.
His victim, a girl who was still in her childhood at the time, was manipulated through a combination of threats and bribery to maintain her silence about the abuse she endured.
The trauma and secrecy persisted for many years until, in 2018, she made a courageous decision to come forward and report her past suffering to the authorities.
Following her disclosure, specialist officers from Northumbria Police undertook an extensive and painstaking investigation into the allegations.
Their efforts resulted in sufficient evidence to charge Bond with multiple serious offences.
The charges included ten counts in total: four counts of rape, four counts of indecency with a child, and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Bond, who resided in Lyncroft, Ashington, vehemently maintained his innocence throughout the process, asserting that he was not guilty of any of the charges.
The case was subsequently brought before Newcastle Crown Court, where it was assigned for trial.
Despite Bond's claims of innocence, a jury deliberated and returned a verdict of guilty on all ten counts on August 15 of this year.
The gravity of the crimes and the strength of the evidence presented led to a firm conviction.
On Friday, October 21, the same court sentenced Kris Bond to a lengthy prison term of 20 years.
The sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the serious nature of exploiting a vulnerable child over an extended period during the 1990s in Northumberland.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of perseverance and courage in bringing perpetrators of child abuse to justice and providing some measure of closure for victims.
