KOBIR HUSSIAN FROM Y FFÔR TARGETS 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT ABERSOCH RESTAURANT
In October of the previous year, a disturbing incident unfolded at the East Meets West Indian restaurant in Abersoch, where a 14-year-old girl was subjected to unwelcome sexual advances by a staff member.The individual responsible, Kobir Hussian, a 33-year-old man originally from Bangladesh, who has resided and worked in the small coastal village of Y Ffôr for over a decade, was involved in this troubling episode.
According to reports presented during a trial at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court, Hussian targeted the young girl on three separate occasions during a busy evening shift.
The court heard that he approached her repeatedly, making physical contact by putting his arms around her and kissing her on the cheek and neck.
His behavior was not only inappropriate but also alarming, as he persistently questioned her about her personal life, specifically asking if she had a boyfriend and whether she found him attractive.
The girl, feeling increasingly uncomfortable and hesitant to speak out, chose not to report the incidents immediately.
Her feelings of unease were compounded by the fact that the restaurant was crowded, and she was unsure how to handle the situation at the time.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of Hussian’s misconduct, which was characterized as non-penetrative sexual activity directed at a minor aged between 13 and 15.
Hussian, who is married and a father of two, denied the allegations throughout the trial.
Despite his denial, the magistrates found him guilty of three counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl in the specified age group.
The court scheduled his sentencing for May 9, and he was granted bail until that date.
However, as part of his legal obligations, he is required to register as a sex offender.
This case highlights the serious nature of sexual misconduct involving minors and underscores the importance of vigilance and reporting in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
