CONNOR AND KIYLE LAPPIN FROM BEDFORD AND KEMPSTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND RAPE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Bedford and Kempston, two brothers, Connor Lappin and Kiyle Lappin, have been convicted and sentenced for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse and rape of minors. Connor Lappin, aged 24 and residing on Clover Way in Kempston, was found guilty of multiple serious offenses. Additionally, Connor was convicted of sexually assaulting a child under 13, further demonstrating his predatory behavior. His sentencing included nine years for the rape charge, coupled with an additional three years and eight months for the sexual assault, with both sentences to be served concurrently, resulting in a substantial period behind bars.

Meanwhile, Kiyle Lappin, aged 22 and living on High Street in Bedford, faced similar charges. He was convicted of raping a child and pleaded guilty to seven separate offenses related to indecent images of children found on his mobile device. His crimes also include the possession and distribution of such images, highlighting a disturbing pattern of exploitation. Kiyle was sentenced to three years and four months for the rape conviction. For the offenses involving indecent images, he received a total of 22 months, which will be served consecutively, bringing his overall sentence to five years and two months.

Both individuals were subjected to lifelong sexual harm prevention orders at Luton Crown Court on Friday, 19 August, a measure designed to protect the community from any future offenses. The investigation was led by Detective Constable Samantha Ostley, who expressed her strong condemnation of the brothers' actions. She emphasized that Connor and Kiyle Lappin pose a significant risk to children within their communities and described their conduct as "vile and depraved." Her statement underscored the importance of justice and the community's safety, stating, "I am glad they will now be going to prison for a very long time."
