PAIR ACCUSED OF LEAVING TODDLER AT HOTEL WITH DRUGS IN SYSTEM
Kirsty Hoban, aged 39, and Liam Quinn, aged 27, are charged with neglect after allegedly leaving a young child alone in a hotel room near a razor blade and with drugs in his system. The incident is said to have occurred at Yotel in central Glasgow, with the child found on a top bunk bed without adequate safety measures and a razor blade among his toys.
It is also claimed that the child tested positive for cocaine.
The defendants are further accused of consuming alcohol or drugs while intoxicated, rendering them unable to care for the child.
They face additional allegations of threatening or abusive conduct; Quinn is accused of shouting, swearing, making threats of violence, and acting aggressively, while Hoban is alleged to have shouted, sworn, recorded police officers, and violently resisted arrest.
Both are also charged with assaulting police officers—Quinn allegedly punched PC Michael Henaghan, bit PC Alistair Martin, and kicked him, whereas Hoban is accused of grabbing PC Anthony McLaughlin and PC Douglas Forrest and resisting violently.
They deny all the charges and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court in the New Year, currently on bail.
