November 2010 Paedophile failed to register his address A PAEDOPHILE who failed to register his Aberdeenshire address with police after conviction has been fined £200. Kieron Hodgson, 27, of Auchenblae, appeared at Stonehaven Sheriff Court on deferred sentence yesterday. Earlier this year, Hodgson avoided jail after he admitted possessing dozens of pornographic images of children as young as two. At the same time, he admitted failing to register his address with Grampian Police within the required three days after his conviction. Sheriff Patrick Davies deferred sentence on that offence until yesterday to allow him to pay a fine. On May 19, Hodgson was sentenced to three years’ supervised probation and ordered to do 195 hours of unpaid work in the community. He was found to have 80 photographs and videos on computers and discs at his home between June 2004 and March 2007. His computer was being investigated in connection with a separate case when police uncovered links to websites which allow people to pay for sexual images of children. The court heard that videos of girls aged between two and 14, and one video of a young boy, were found on discs at Hodgson’s home at Roselea, Inverurie Street. Sheriff Davies said at the time: “I have concluded that the interests of society would be better served by a lengthy probation order. I take the view that a relatively lengthy period of imprisonment would provide the punishment and do nothing to overcome the problem.” He added that, as a condition of his probation, Hodgson would be supervised under the joint sex offender initiative.
