In a case that has spanned over a decade, Kieran Wareing, a 64-year-old man from Elstow Road, Kempston, Bedford, was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of multiple charges of sexual assault against a young girl. The incidents took place in the late 1990s, with the victim, now a university student, bravely giving evidence before a jury to recount her traumatic experiences.

According to her testimony, Wareing assaulted her at two different locations during that period: one at his former residence in Watford and another in Bicester. The charges also included several instances where he touched her over her clothing, constituting repeated acts of indecency. The court heard that these assaults occurred when the girl was between the ages of six and nine, highlighting the severity and the vulnerability of the victim at the time.

Wareing appeared before Luton Crown Court to face the charges, which included three counts of indecent assault. Despite the conviction, his defense lawyer, Paul Orton, maintained that Wareing
