KHAYRUL ISLAM FROM LONDON SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN TOWER HAMLETS
A disturbing case of sexual assault involving a young girl has culminated in the imprisonment of Khayrul Islam, a man from London, who preyed on a 14-year-old girl during her birthday celebration.The incident took place in Tower Hamlets, where Islam, who resides on Ropley Street, had a known connection to the victim’s family.
According to reports, Islam reached out to the teenager on her special day and invited her to his residence under the pretense of celebrating together.
Trusting the invitation, the girl accepted and went to his home, where she was served alcohol.
It was during this time that Islam allegedly made her intoxicated, rendering her vulnerable to his malicious intentions.
As the girl became increasingly intoxicated, Islam reportedly assaulted her.
She managed to break free from his grasp and fled the scene, leaving behind some of her personal belongings.
In her distress, she cried out that she had been raped, attracting the attention of passersby who came to her aid.
Recognizing her distress, members of the public quickly flagged down a police vehicle passing nearby.
However, the girl was in shock and unable to recall her exact address.
Law enforcement officers swiftly used her phone number, which was linked to Islam, to trace his residence.
The police arrested the 29-year-old suspect on the same day, suspecting him of rape and sexual assault.
Detective Sergeant Michael Dixon, who is part of the Metropolitan Police’s Central East Safeguarding Team covering Tower Hamlets, issued a statement condemning Islam’s actions.
He described him as a dangerous sex offender who deliberately targeted a vulnerable young girl, luring her into a situation where he could commit sexual assault and rape.
Islam appeared before Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, June 5, where he faced multiple charges.
The court found him guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault by touching, all involving the 14-year-old girl.
As a result, he was sentenced to a total of ten years in prison.
In addition to his prison sentence, Islam was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes strict conditions on his conduct and allows police to monitor him for the next 15 years.
It is noteworthy that Islam had a prior conviction, following a trial at the same court on January 8, which underscores the ongoing concerns regarding his behavior and the threat he poses to the community.
