Leeds man jailed for child sex offences

A man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for numerous sexual offences against a young girl that occurred over a period of several years, with the earliest reported incident dating back to 2010 and the latest to 2014. Following a trial at Leeds Crown Court, Khalid Hussain, aged 56 and residing on York Road in Leeds, was found guilty of 10 serious sexual offences, including raping the girl five times between 2010 and 2014. Hussain was formally sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on a Monday. Police officials, including Det Con Bernadette Cooper from West Yorkshire Police, praised the victim for her exceptional bravery in coming forward, which led to his arrest and prosecution. The victim first reported Hussain in March 2020, triggering a lengthy investigation and his subsequent arrest. Officers described the offences as 'appalling' and expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the sentencing, which aims to deliver justice and support for the victim.
