June 2011 Rapist jailed for life THIS rapist has been jailed for life after attacking teenage girls in Essex and Kent. A 21-year-old rapist who re-offended while on bail for a serious sexual assault on a vulnerable teenage girl in Benfleet has been jailed for life. Khaled Ullah, who is originally from Southend but now lives in Kent, was sentenced to life imprisonment, to serve a minimum term of ten years, at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday. He was sentenced for a sex assault on a young teenage girl in Benfleet in July 2008 and the rape of a teenager in Kent in November 2009 which occurred just days after he appeared at Basildon Crown Court in relation to the earlier offence. The Judge said that Ullah was such a risk to the public and that the cases were so serious that he would be placed on the sex offenders register for life. He was also issued with a sexual offences order which prevents him having any contact with children under 18 years of age. Investigating officer DC Emma Chapman, from Southend, said: “Khaled Ullah is a dangerous young man who took advantage of a vulnerable girl. “This case was complicated by Ullah committing further serious offences in Kent which clearly delayed closure for our victim, but I hope that the result will now go some way in providing that closure.  “I would like to praise the young woman and her family who have shown great bravery, patience and resilience throughout this lengthy legal process.”
