KEVIN AND NICOLA HITT FROM GOSPORT SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN HAMPSHIRE

A Hampshire couple, Kevin and Nicola Hitt of Gosport, has been sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison after being convicted of multiple child sex abuse offences.

Their convictions followed a police raid on their home during which officers discovered video footage and images depicting abuse and pornography.

The raid took place in Tamworth, Staffordshire, in October 2019, as reported by Birmingham Live.

Kevin Hitt, aged 56, pled guilty to 21 charges, including seven counts of engaging in a sexual act in front of a child, ten counts of causing a child to participate in sexual acts without penetration, and four counts of exposing a child to sex acts.

His wife, Nicola Hitt, aged 53, admitted to five counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity without penetration and four counts of exposing a child to sexual activity.

At Stafford Crown Court on January 18, Kevin Hitt was sentenced to 16 and a half years in prison.

He was also issued with a sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.

Nicola Hitt was sentenced to eight years and three months in prison, also subject to a sexual harm prevention order and lifelong registration.

During the hearing, the couple provided an address in Gosport.

Detective Constable Kat Middleton of Staffordshire Police expressed her gratitude, stating: “I want to thank the witnesses for coming forward and having the bravery to speak about the harm they suffered, allowing us to bring Kevin and Nicola Hitt before the courts.

I hope these jail sentences demonstrate that we will always do whatever it takes to bring offenders to justice, while ensuring victims and their families are offered the support they need.”
