KEVARNIE QUEEN AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN LONDON
A man accused of orchestrating a series of heinous sexual assaults over a span of three years has been officially convicted of his crimes.Kevarnie Queen, aged 19 and widely known on social media as the ‘Brixton R Kelly’, was found guilty of multiple counts related to the sexual abuse of young women.
His offenses primarily took place in London, where he engaged in a systematic pattern of grooming and assault.
Queen targeted his victims through the popular social media platform Snapchat, where he engaged in offensive flattery and manipulation tactics to lure young girls into trusting him.
Once under his influence, he arranged meetings that led to sexual encounters.
Shockingly, Queen exploited this method to assault six young women, all of whom were under the age of 18 at the time.
His actions revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior, some of which involved multiple assaults on the same victims, further highlighting the severity and persistence of his crimes.
The criminal proceedings against Queen began when he was initially apprehended on April 8, 2020.
His arrest was specifically linked to two counts of rape.
During police interrogations, Queen chose not to offer any explanation or defense, remaining silent as the allegations mounted against him.
Following this initial arrest, he was taken into custody again in June 2020, and later on August 8, 2022, facing additional charges of rape.
Throughout the legal process, Queen maintained denial of the accusations, insisting that the women involved were lying and accused them of participating in a hate campaign designed to tarnish his reputation.
However, his denials could not withstand the weight of evidence presented.
After a thorough trial at Inner London Crown Court, the jury reached a verdict on August 18, 2023, finding Queen guilty on 22 counts of rape.
As a result of this conviction, Queen was remanded in custody pending sentencing, which is scheduled to take place on October 13, 2023, at the same court.
The case has prompted responses from authorities advocating for the protection and justice of victims.
Laura Devitt, a Senior Crown Prosecutor from the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit in London South, issued a statement emphasizing the bravery shown by the victims in coming forward.
She highlighted the devastating impact these crimes have had on them, noting their young ages and the lasting trauma caused.
Devitt further condemned Queen’s actions, criticizing his view of young girls as mere objects for his own gratification.
Queen had previously portrayed himself as a ‘player’ who believed his actions were consensual, but these claims were dismissed as misogynistic and unjustifiable.
The convictions serve both as justice for the victims and a warning to others that such behavior will not be tolerated.
Finally, the prosecutor reaffirmed the importance of ensuring that all women and girls feel safe to go about their daily lives without fear of harassment or sexual violence.
The Crown Prosecution Service remains committed to pursuing justice against offenders who perpetrate crimes against women, seeking to prevent further harm and uphold the safety and dignity of all individuals in London.
