KENNETH PYLE CAUGHT WITH CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES NEAR PAISLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY
In January 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving Kenneth Pyle, a 58-year-old man from Paisley, who was found to possess a disturbing collection of child sex abuse images.The images, totaling 227 in number, had been accumulated over a period of five years and were discovered in his flat, which is situated in close proximity to a primary school and a children’s nursery, raising serious concerns about the safety of local children.
During a court hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Pyle was a loner who had been caught with this vile stash of illicit material.
The court heard that he had pleaded guilty to the charges last March and was subsequently handed a Community Payback Order.
In addition to this, he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and was subjected to a three-year probation period.
The court’s decision was aimed at ensuring that Pyle would be monitored closely and would not pose a further threat to the community.
As part of the court’s review, Pyle appeared before Sheriff Tom McCartney to demonstrate his compliance with the court’s orders.
The restrictions placed upon him are strict: he is prohibited from owning, possessing, or accessing any device capable of connecting to the internet.
Furthermore, he is barred from having any contact with individuals under the age of 17, a measure designed to prevent any potential harm or reoffending.
The court’s investigation revealed that Pyle had been caught with a disturbing collection of images, including eight classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe level of indecent material.
These images depicted children being raped by adults, a heinous crime that underscores the gravity of his offenses.
The charges against him included taking or permitting the taking of indecent photographs of children, with the offenses occurring at his flat between December 1, 2009, and December 10, 2014.
His flat is located in a tenement building near West Primary School and Abbey Nursery, both of which serve young children in the community.
The proximity of his residence to these educational and childcare facilities heightened concerns about the potential risk posed by his actions.
Sheriff Tom McCartney emphasized the importance of compliance, reminding Pyle that he would be called back before the court if he breaches any of the conditions.
He stated, “You have complied with the terms of the order as far as completing the unpaid work element, and the order should continue and in the circumstances, no further review will be required.
However, should you not comply with the terms of the order, at that point you will be brought back before the court to face further sanctions.” The court’s decision reflects a cautious approach, balancing the need for supervision with the recognition of Pyle’s current compliance.
