Kenneth Jenkins

Cwmfelinfach Sexual Abuser

December 2015 Man, 63, jailed after police find indecent images of children as young as three on his computer A 63-year-old man has been jailed for six months after police found dozens of indecent images of children on his computer. Officers executed a search warrant at Kenneth Jenkins’ home in Caerphilly and discovered indecent pictures and videos of children as young as three.  Sentencing him at Cardiff Crown Court , Recorder David Miller said: “It is quite clear that you consumed these images for your sexual gratification. “These are images of children being sexually abused. You encouraged this evil trade.” The court heard that police officers searched his home on King Street, Cwmfelinfach, on July 29. They explained they had received intelligence that someone at the address had downloaded indecent images. Claire Pickthall, prosecuting, said the defendant told officers “it was me” and when they seized his computer, admitted “that’s the one I did it on”. A search of his computer and hard drive revealed software that would have allowed him to share the images, although police did not uncover any evidence that he had actually shared them. They also found software designed to conceal and wipe the images from his computer. Jenkins was interviewed at Ystrad Mynach police station, where he claimed: “I have done my best not to distribute it.” Officers found images, including six videos. Of those, 10 were the most serious Category A, 20 were Category B, including five videos, and 27 were Category C, including one video. The court heard all of the children involved were under 10, apart from one 12-year-old girl. Ms Pickthall argued the age of the children was an aggravating feature of the case, along with the fact the defendant had tried to conceal the evidence. Judge Miller said: “These are very young children. It is the mixture of images and the age of the children which are highly aggravating features in this case. The offences are so serious that only a prison sentence is justified.” Jenkins was sentenced to six months and will serve half in prison before being released on licence for 12 months. The judge also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
