In 2019, Kenneth Bond was jailed and placed on the sex offenders register after being caught at the Jury’s Inn at East Midlands Airport waiting with a bag of sex toys, ropes and alcohol for a 12-year-old.
Bond, who has since moved from Worcestershire to Fife, has habitually breached his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and was back in the dock in Dundee to admit two more breaches.
Prosecutor Andrew Brown explained that on the afternoon of April 9 this year, Bond walked into the Portland Hotel in Chesterfield without a reservation and paid £93 for a room.
He left the next morning and gave his address as being in Glenrothes.
Three days later, the police attended his home in Crail to carry out checks on the two devices the offender brought from England.
The phone had been subjected to a factory reset after he had regained it from police in England.
They also found evidence of his unauthorised stay in Chesterfield.
Bond told officers: “I advised you that I was going to Derbyshire to collect a tablet and a phone.
“I also informed you that I would be travelling to Nottingham with a view to staying overnight there but on the day I changed my mind to stay in Chesterfield.” He also insisted the phone he collected had never been connected to the internet.
Bond has been on remand at HMP Perth since appearing in court in private on April 14.
He was initially made subject to a SHPO at Derby Crown Court in January 2019 and that order was amended at Peterhead Sheriff Court in January.
Last week he pled guilty in Dundee to two breaches of the order.
He admitted the unauthorised hotel stay on April 9 into April 10 this year and resetting the mobile phone he picked up from police in the Midlands, in defiance of rules prohibiting him clearing his internet use.
Solicitor Gino Gambale said: “He wanted to delete all of the data because he wanted to start afresh.
“He now realises he should not have done that.
He’s simply not understood his order.
There was no premeditation.” Sheriff Alastair Carmichael jailed Bond for 20 months.
He said: “The order was explained to you.
You have had access to copies of it.
“This order was put in place to monitor your behaviour and keep the public, in particular children, safe.
“There can be no doubt what the order required you to do.” Since relocating to Fife, the pervert – who is on the sex offenders register for life – has accrued multiple breaches.
