PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR DECADES OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BURTON AND TAMWORTH
A man aged 54 has received a 16-year prison sentence after being convicted of numerous child sexual offenses in Burton and Tamworth.
Keith Patrick Goodearl was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault, along with attempted rape, attempted sexual assault, and participating in sexual conduct in front of a minor.
The offenses occurred in different locations and over a lengthy period, from 1986 to 2001 in Tamworth and Burton, and later from 2007 to 2011 in Sheerness and Kent.
Stafford Crown Court ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
Investigating officer DC Laura Turner from Staffordshire Police’s child protection and exploitation team pointed out the complexities involved in the case, which spanned decades and affected many individuals.
She urged victims to come forward and assured them that they would receive support from dedicated professionals.
Goodearl, who lives on Margaret Street in Immingham, South Humberside, was described in court as a reprehensible individual whose actions inflicted substantial harm.
The judge handed down the sentence on November 18.
