KEITH NATHAN OF TIMPERLEY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE AT TRAFFORD GYMS

In a case that has shocked the local community, Keith Nathan, a Thai boxing instructor from Timperley, has been sentenced to prison for a series of serious sexual offences committed against young girls. The incident took place over several decades, with Nathan using his position at Pele’s gym in Trafford as a platform to carry out his reprehensible acts.

Keith Nathan, born on September 6, 1958, and residing on Park Gate Road in Timperley, appeared before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday, July 20, 2018, for sentencing. The court heard that Nathan had been found guilty of 17 separate counts of gross indecency and indecent assault, crimes that spanned from the 1970s through to more recent years. His reputation in the local martial arts community was once that of a revered figure, often regarded as a 'god' within the sport, until his arrest in 2015 brought his career to a halt.

Authorities from the Public Protection Investigation Unit initiated an inquiry following a complaint lodged against Nathan. The investigation uncovered disturbing evidence that Nathan had coached young girls at various gyms across Trafford and Manchester, exploiting his position of trust. Two victims, both under the age of 16 at the time of the offences, were identified during the investigation.

When officers detained Nathan for questioning and presented him with the evidence, he denied all allegations. Despite facing the court and being confronted with the evidence, Nathan continued to deny the charges. His refusal to admit guilt did not prevent the court from passing a severe sentence. He was sentenced to six years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely. Additionally, Nathan was subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his contact with minors and prevent further offences.
