Chesterfield Child Sexual Abuser
A pensioner from Chesterfield who sexually abused two young teenage girls over a period of years has been sentenced to twenty years in prison. At Derby Crown Court, Judge Jonathan Bennett described Keith Bryan's offending as 'wicked,' highlighting the significant harm caused to the victims. Bryan, aged 67, admitted to charges of sexual activity with a child and causing or inciting a child to watch a sexual act. The court was told how Bryan gave one of the girls alcohol, cannabis, and bought her meals from Burger King in exchange for sexual favors. The first victim, now an adult, detailed how Bryan targeted her because of her vulnerability, providing drugs and alcohol, which led to depression and low self-esteem. The second victim, still a child, expressed feelings of terror and confusion, further stating she felt responsible for allowing the abuse. Bryan's sentence includes 14 years custody plus a six-year extended license for dangerousness, along with a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and registration on the sex offender register. The court's judgment underscores the severity and wickedness of his actions, emphasizing the devastating impact on his victims.
