DUNFERMLINE TEENAGER KEIREN MCTAVISH INVOLVED IN VIOLENT STREET ATTACK NEAR DONALD STREET
A violent altercation involving a teenager from Dunfermline resulted in him assaulting his partner in a public street, an incident that was witnessed by police officers passing by in a vehicle.The officers promptly intervened and arrested the suspect, Keiren McTavish, who is 18 years old.
McTavish, who was previously residing in Saline but now lives on Donald Street in Dunfermline, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face charges related to the assault.
On the 4th of May, McTavish admitted to the court that he had assaulted his partner on Donald Street, Dunfermline, by headbutting and punching her during an argument.
The court heard that the incident took place in a public area, and the assault was witnessed by passersby, including police officers who happened to be nearby in a vehicle.
The depute fiscal, Dev Kapadia, provided details of the events leading up to the assault, stating that McTavish and a friend had been drinking Buckfast wine prior to meeting the victim.
An argument ensued, during which McTavish allegedly grabbed the victim’s phone, and then proceeded to headbutt and punch her in the head.
It was also revealed during the court proceedings that this was not an isolated incident for McTavish, as it marked his third case of similar behavior within the span of a year.
The court was informed of his ongoing pattern of violence, which raised concerns about his conduct and the need for intervention.
Sheriff James MacDonald sentenced McTavish to a community payback order, which includes 15 months of supervision and 175 hours of unpaid work.
The sheriff issued a stern warning to McTavish, stating, “If you don’t complete these hours, you’ll come back here and I’ll lock you up,” emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the importance of rehabilitation and compliance with the court’s orders.
